Aamir’s film slated for February release

MUMBAI: Aamir Khan Productions’ Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is set to release on 8 February 2008. The shooting of the film has been wrapped up and is currently in post production. The film was shot in Bombay and Rajasthan.


 


Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, which is being co-produced by Aamir Khan Productions’ along with PVR, has been made on a budget of approximately Rs 80 million (Rs 8 crores). PVR will also distribute the film in India.


 


PVR Films Cell CEO Ashish Saksena informs Businessofcinema.com, “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is a love story set in a college campus, hence we though that the Friday before Valentine’s Day will be apt for its release.”


 


The film stars debutants Imran Khan and Genelia Dsouza in lead roles and Ratna Pathak Shah in a prominent role. Besides, Naserruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal, Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan also lend guest appearances in the film.


 


Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is directed by Abbas Tyrewala who has previously written dialogues for films like Salaam Namaste, Main Hoon Na, Munnabhai M.B.B.S. and Asoka amongst others.


 


On the other hand, Aamir Khan Productions’ first release will be Taare Zameen Par, which will hit theatres on 21 December, 2007.
