MUMBAI: Sanjay Kapoor, younger brother to actor Anil Kapoor and producer Boney Kapoor, has forayed into production with a film to be written and directed by Anees Bazmee.
Says Bazmee, “It is too early to comment on the film. Sanjay is a dear friend and we are planning to make a film together.”
Sources say the film will star filmmaker’s Harry Baweja’s son Harman, in the lead. A new girl is being finalised to play the female lead opposite him. The film, yet untitled, will mount the sets soon.
Writer – director Anees Bazmee has completed Benaam, starring Ajay Devgan, Bhoomika Chawla and Sameera Reddy, as well as Welcome, starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Feroze Khan and others.
Apart from Sanjay’s maiden venture, he has various films like Boney Kapoor’s No Entry Mein Entry, a film for Balaji Films, Feroze Nadiadwala’s International Hera Pheri and a remake of Malayalam film Autograph, which will star Akshaye Khanna. UTV’s next is also in his kitty.
Sanjay Kapoor, who debuted as an actor in Raja, opposite Madhuri Dixit, was last seen in Anjaane – The Unknown, which bombed at the box-office.
