Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Gets Legal Notice

Aishwarya-Rai-Bachchan-04Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who is all set to make her comeback with Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa, was recently roped for the most intense film Sarabjit Singh’s biopic, helmed by Omung Kumar. The actress will be seen playing the role of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur.

After Mary Kom, the director has come up with another brave heart story that would showcase a real life struggle of an Indian prisoner, Sarabjit Singh, who died after a brutal attack in Pakistan jail in 2013.

But according to the latest reports the film is said to be in legal trouble before the makers could start the shooting of the film. Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur who struggled every way to get back his brother back to India, has sent a legal notice to director Omung Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Apparently she sent this message thinking that the makers of the film will portray her brother in bad way.

For those who don’t know, Dalbir Kaur is the 61 year older sister of Sarabjit Singh, who is a late farmer who crossed over to Pakistan in 1990, and was alleged of being an Indian spy by the Pakistani government.

Director Omung Kumar who likes his films to be as realistic as possible, has roped in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the role of Dalbir Kaur in the film. Reportedly, earlier the role was offered to Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Deepika Padukone, but ultimately the role landed to Jazbaa actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Sarabjit Singh was caught on an unmarked Indo-Pakistani border area in Pakistan, and arrested by the Pakistan Rangers near Kasur border, and his supporters claimed that the arrest was a case of mistaken identity, and that he was only a poor farmer who was drunk and had strayed over the border. Singh was attacked on 26 April 2013 in the Central Jail Lahore by other few prisoners who tortured him badly with blades, knives.

Sarabjit Singh was more like a son than a brother for Dalbir Kaur who defeated every way to get back his brother back to India but that couldn’t happen. This would be one of the real life story with an intense role of the Indian cinema.

Well, with another brave heart story on Sarabjit Singh, the question rises if the director would be able to convince Dalbir Kaur and if the filming of the Sarabjit’s life could be done in bad or good limelight. Time will tell better!
