Ajay Devgn At 44 – Many Hats, Many Feathers

Ajay Devgn, 44, is an Actor, Producer, Director, Sound Artiste and Stunt Man…. in his many hats he has managed to secure lots of feathers for his caps.

Ajay Devgn is a Superstar in the true sense; Actor, Director, Producer… and today he turns 44! From the child artist in ‘Pyari Behna’ to giving one Bollywood blockbuster hit after another as the male lead. We try to find the answers to why he is the “Superstar”!

Ajay Devgn was born into the family of stunt choreographer Veeru Devgan and entered films at the age of sixteen with a cameo in ‘Pyari Behna’ in 1985. Some six years down the line, Ajay successfully established himself as the new action hero in Tinsel Town with his daredevil stunts in his debut film ‘Phool Aur Kaante’.

The journey since then has only been upward for the man and he continued to climb one giant step after another.

From police officer to a gangster to rich chocolate boy to a mentally challenged father to jealous husband, Ajay Devgn has played diverse roles in his films just as in life he has taken to don many hats: Actor, Producer, Director, Sound Artiste and Stunt Man…. Whew! The list is long!

Apart from being a mainstream Bollywood actor, Ajay has diversified his portfolio into production with his production company Ajay Devgn fFilms. His production house has given the industry films like ‘Bol Bachchan’, ‘Son of Sardaar’ and ‘U, Me Aur Hum’ (which also happens to be his directorial debut that was critically well received). The house will also be coming up with a sequel to Rohit Shetty’s hit ‘Singham’, ‘Singham 2’ in the next year.

He has even given his voice to the animated film ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’ and even starred in a short documentary ‘The Awakening’ that was based on the deluge that gripped Mumbai a few years ago.

As son of a great action choreographer, Ajay’s stints at stunts his movies and his closeness to director Rohit Shetty (son of another much-celebrated Stunt Director, Shetty) comes as no surprise. Most of Ajay Devgn’s films are of an “Action” type and with this he has won the hearts of youngsters all around.

And Ajay in his many hats has managed to secure lots of feathers for his caps. Ajay has won the National Award for his acting twice along with other Bollywood film awards. His performances are generally strong and often of the better performances in Bollywood.
