Akbar Khan’s next: A Rs 1.25 billion film

MUMBAI: After the debacle of his dream project Taj Mahal – An Eternal Love Story, producer-director Akbar Khan is planning a comeback with the launch of two new projects – Daddy Come Back and Chengis Khan.

Khan informs Businessofcinema.com that Chengis Khan will be made on a budget of Rs 1.25 billion (Rs 125 crores). “I love to showcase opulence in my films and a theme like Chengis Khan needs a huge budget to make it credible. This film will go on floors by the end of 2008 and I’m planning to cast international actors,” he says.

On the other hand, Daddy Come Back will have a budget of Rs 250 million (Rs 25 crores), which will have a contemporary theme. “Shooting will commence by this year end. At the moment, I’m finalizing the cast for the same,” he adds.
