MUMBAI: It’s been two years since television and film actor Amit Sadh broke up with his girlfriend actress Neeru Bajwa. The two broke up after seven years of togetherness because they wanted to pursue their respective careers separately. They did appear together as a package deal in Ram Gopal Varma’s unmitigated horror film ‘Phook 2’.

 

That’s when they decided to call it quits.

 

Interestingly, Neeru’s Punjabi rom-com ‘Jat Aur Juliet’ is a worldwide hit. Amit Sadh too got favourable notices in ‘Maximum’ for his subtle performance as a young journalist from Lucknown in Mumbai,

 

“Though we’re still friends and in touch  we lead separate lives and we’ve our own careers. She has her own life and I have my own." Amit says he isn’t seeing anyone in particular.  “Romeo is on a rampage,” he grins mischievously. 

 

Amit was first noticed on the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ three seasons ago when he kept breaking down on camera for his girlfriend. Clarifies Amit, “People presumed I was constantly stressed because I was missing Neeru. In truth I’ve been a through a lot more in life than just a broken heart. I’ve had a traumatic childhood and it’s taken me a lot to build my career from scratch.”

 

Now after an acclaimed performance in ‘Maximum’, Amit Sadh is looking forward to the release of Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kai Po Che’, the screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘The 3 Mistakes Of My Life’.

 

Says the actor, “In my own life I’ve made many mistakes. So I guess I am well qualified for the role. Shooting for ‘Kai Po Che’ has been an enlightening experience. I was lucky to land up with such a plum role. I’m auditioning for a couple of other important projects.”

 

Amit is now waiting for the release of ‘Kai Po Che’ before signing anything else. “I am still new in Bollywood. I am still trying to find my way. But at least now doors have opened for me and producers are willing to meet me.”
