Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil grabbed all the limelight ever since the first promo of the film was unveiled. Moreover, Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s intimate scenes in the film became a talk of the town. Sorts of reports were doing rounds that Bachchan family is quiet upset with Aishwarya over the same. In fact, none from the family ever reacted to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s performance or on the film. Reports also suggested that Amitabh Bachchan wanted Karan Johar to chop off some scenes from the film.
But at the recently held 22nd Kolkata International Film Festival, Amitabh Bachchan gave a speech on how the portrayal of female characters in the film is related to the social progress of women in the country. He even gave some examples from Indian Cinema and spoke about the changes shows in women, in their relationships, her position in a relationship, se*ual exploitation, and women in education and in politics.
