MUMBAI: Seems like the "Nau Baj Gaye Kya?" phenomenon is going to be back into our lives. Kaun Banega Crorepati, which changed the face of Indian television almost a decade ago with Amitabh Bachchan as host, is now back.
The format rights of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, which until now were vesting with Star TV, have now been snapped up by Sony. What’s more, the channel has also roped in the original host of the show – Big B, who will host the fourth season of the show.
On Star Plus, Bachchan hosted the show for two seasons, whereas the third season was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. KBC4 is likely to go on air by the end of this year.
Sony is working on a few variations for the new season and Bachchan is also expected to don a new look. The prize money on KBC4 will be Rs 10 million (Rs 1 crore).
