MUMBAI: Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher shocked fans when he recently posted a photo of himself with an uncanny resemblance to Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
The actor who is portraying the late visionary in his film- a biopic titled ‘jOBS’ took to social networking site Twitter to show off the split-screen photo of himself and Steve Jobs.
In the image, Ashton resembles Steve Jobs to such an extent that it took most fans a second look to tell who is who! Along with the snap, the ‘What Happens in Vegas’ star tweeted, “Thank you Sundance for your support of Jobs.”
On 28 January, ‘jOBS’ chronicling the 30 defining years of Apple entrepreneur Steve Jobs’ life, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
Ashton revealed what a challenge it was to play the man who ascended from a college dropout to one of the most revered and creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century. The most difficult part, said the actor, was adopting Steve’s fruit only diet, which left the actor in the hospital with pancreatitis!
“Everyone is an appropriate critic. Everyone can tear you apart. Everyone can look at any detail, a piece of clothing or a speech pattern and go ‘No, no, this is not what it was,’ and that’s really scary,” said Kutcher.
Reportedly, the actor’s fears came true when hours before the screening of the film, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak apparently found ‘jOBS’ to misrepresent both his own and Jobs’ personalities and their early vision for Apple.
However, Ashton hopes that the view of the co-founder would change once he saw the whole film. “I hope that when he sees the film, he feels that he was portrayed accurately, that the film accurately represents who he was and how he was, and more importantly, inspires people to go and build things,” added the ‘Two and a Half Men’ star.
‘jOBS’ is slated to release in the U.S. on 19 April and will be screened in India around the same time.
