MUMBAI: Mahesh Bhatt has announced the forthcoming films from the Bhatt camp. A total of four films will be churned out from the Vishesh Films stable in 2007.
The list stars with Awaarapan to be directed by Mohit Suri and will star Emraan Hashmi, south actress- Shreya Saran and new find Mrinalini Sharma. Posters of Awaarapan were unveiled at an event held last night, wherein one got see Emraan sporting long hair and a slightly longish moustache with a stubble.
“Awaarapan will go on floors in January. As of now we are recording the songs for the film,” informed Mahesh Bhatt. The music of the film is by Pritam and will be made available on Saregama.
Mohit Suri, on the other hand, did not want to reveal the story of the film but in an interview with Businessofcinema.com during the release of Woh Lamhe, he had mentioned that – Awaarapan has a love story that no one has ever seen. It has a new thought that dwells on the freedom of a person and how people in today’s world are not naturally free. They are slaves to the system and the world.
Awaarapna is budgeted at Rs 150 million (Rs 15 crore). When asked what prompted him to make a big budget film with the Bhatts, Suri said, “Awaarapan is a big budget film and by far the most expensive film of the Bhatts. I wanted to make a big film not because everyone around seems to be doing the same, but because my script required it.”
After Awaarapan, another film titled Showbizz will go on floors, which will be directed by Raju Khan. Pooja Bhatt will return to Bhatt camp with Dhoka after a gap of three years. Mahesh Bhatt’s son Rahul Bhatt will mark his debut as an actor in Suicide Bomber, which will be directed by Anurag Basu.
All these films will go on floors by 2007 and will release in 2007 or 2008.
