MUMBAI: While Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg 2’ reigns mighty, the slew of new releases are complete wash outs at the Box Office. The lineup includes ‘Table No. 21’, ‘Dehradun Diary’, and ‘Rajdhani Express’: three films that didn’t quite impress audiences this weekend.

First off, ‘Table No. 21’ which stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Paresh Rawal and Tena Desae has sadly failed to wow critics or fans. Revolving around the story of a twisted reality TV game show in Fiji, where a couple is flown out to participate, and where if “you lie means you die”. ‘Table No. 21’ saw an occupancy of less than 10% on Day 1, quite a dismal performance, considering it is a Paresh Rawal film and his last film ‘Oh My God!’ was a certified hit.

Next up was Leander Paes’ debut vehicle: ‘Rajdhani Express’. A film involving a runaway, a fashion designer and a Bollywood starlet traveling in the same compartment, coming face-to-face with a grim incident and their reactions to it, ‘Rajdhani Express’ too proved to be a dud. ‘Rajdhani Express’, starring Jimmy Sheirgill, Gulshan Grover, Sudhanshu Pandey and Puja Bose is considered a complete washout film.

And finally, ‘Dehradun Diary’, a pointless film starring Rohit Bakshi, Adhyayan Suman, Ragini Nandwani and Rati Agnihotri. ‘Dehradun Diary’ deals with a rich girl falling for the son of a retired IAS officer, and her family disapproving this union and murdering her boyfriend. Which then follow a common man’s fight for justice in an increasingly corrupt society. ‘Dehradun Diary’ too saw lacklustre business on its opening weekend.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha’s 21st December release, ‘Dabangg 2’ is still going strong. After the third weekend the film stands at a total of approximately Rs 1.52 billion (Rs 152 crore) net.
