Box Office: Diljit Dosanjh’s Super Singh Outperforms Riteish Deshmukh’s Bank Chor On First Weekend!

Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh’s Bank Chor and Diljit Dosanjh’s Super Singh released on the same day, June 16, 2017.

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, who made his Bollywood debut in Shahid Kapoor starrer Udta Punjab is ruling Box office with his recently released Punjabi superhero film, Super Singh. On the other hand, Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi-starrer Bank Chor has also released at the Box Office.

Self-confessedly India’s STUPIDEST comic thriller, Bank Chor has hit the right chord and is receiving a positive response from the audience. Despite getting a positive response, the film is not able to earn at the Box Office.

Bank Chor had done a business of Rs 1.40 crore net approx (Rs 14 million) on day one. With Mumbai circuit doing a little better with collections of around Rs 55-60 lakhs net. On day two, the film collected Rs 1.65 crore net approx (16 million). The collections of the film dropped on Sunday (day three) because of India Vs Pakistan cricket match. Bank Chor collected Rs 1.35 crore net approx. (13 million) on Sunday, taking total three days collection to Rs 4.40 crore net approx.(44 million)

On the other hand, Super Singh featuring Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has opened to a great response at the Box Office as well as with reviews. Released to 350 screens, the opening day collections of Super Singh was better than Bank Chor, which has 700 screens.

Super Singh, which also stars Sonam Bajwa, collected Rs 1.78 crore nett approx. (17 million) on day one, and show a little growth with a business of Rs 2 crore net approx.(20 million) on the second day. The film is continuing to show a little growth with each passing day and Sunday figures are a proof. Super Singh collected Rs 1.90 crore net approx (19 million) on day 3 (Sunday), taking total three days collection to Rs 5.70 crore net approx. (57 million)

Diljit’s Super Singh has got the fourth highest ever in India after Sardaar 2 (7.78 crore nett), Sardaarji (7.13 crore nett) and Manjhe Bistre (6.16 crore nett).
