Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor And Anushka Sharma Starrer Bombay Velvet First Day Collection

Ranbir-Kapoor-Anushka-Sharma-Bombay-Velvet-0012Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer film Bombay Velvet opened to a very poor start at the Box Office. The film saw occupancy rate of around 15-20% at the Box Office on Friday, which is very less considering the fact that Bombay Velvet was one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Bombay Velvet only managed to mint Rs. 5.75 crore net approximately (57.5 million) on its first day at the Box Office, which is lower than Ranbir’s Roy’s first day earnings.

A lot was expected from Bombay Velvet, but the film poorly failed to attract the moviebuffs and have a decent start at the Box Office. It’s shocking how the romantic drama thriller film failed to do a good business at the Box Office, despite the fact that the film was released in 2600 screens in India. The occupancy rate of the film was so bad that some of the shows had to be cancelled in some theatres. Now director Anurag Kashyap’s film Bombay Velvet will have to speed up and bring some good numbers in its opening weekend in order to earn the production cost of the film.

Having big names like Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar as leading stars of the film, a lot was expected from Bombay Velvet. Now whether Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet succeeds to have a decent business on it’s opening weekend or not, time will tell.
