BOX OFFICE: ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ Peaks Out By 10th Day

MUMBAI: Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’, produced by Viacom 18, starring Jimmy Shergill, Mahie Gill, Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan, saw a heavy drop in box office collections by its second weekend.

The ten day total of the film is in the range of Rs 198 million (Rs 19.80 crore) net, after seeing close to an 85% drop in its second weekend.

As reported previously, ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ opened with decent collections of approximately Rs 34.2 million (Rs 3.42 crore) net on Friday. By its first weekend, the 3 day total of the film was in the range of Rs 121.5 million (Rs 12.15 crore) net.

The film slowed down some over its first week. Including the weekday figures, the first week total of ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ was about Rs 182.5 million (Rs 18.25 crore) net. The highest contribution came from Mumbai, Delhi, and Punjab.

The reviews for the film were great and new releases like Y Film’s ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’, Fox star’s ‘Jolly LLB’ and Eros International’s  ‘3G’ saw a poor to average opening. In spite of this, ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster’ has not been able to sustain at the box office beyond a point.
