We really feel sad when films do not even have the potential to recover their production costs, leave alone making profit. Well that’s exactly what’s happened with Youngistaan, O Teri And Dishkiyaoon, films that released on March 28, 2014.
Story of a young politician, Youngistaan, starring Jackky Bhagnani, Neha Sharma and the Late Farooque Sheikh; underworld action flick Dishkiyaoon, starring Harman Baweja, Sunny Deol and Ayesha Khanna and the comedy movie O Teri, starring Pulkit Samrat, Bilal Amrohi and Sarah Jane Dias; all these three films have fallen flat at the Box Office.
What’s common between all these three films is that all the three films could not manage to attract audiences and have managed about seven to ten percent occupancies with no sigh of any increase in footfall.
Directed by debutant Syed Ahmad Afzal, Youngistaan has managed to collect Rs. 33.7 million (Rs 3.37 crore) nett till date at the Box Office, though official reports are yet to come in.
On the other hand, Dishkiyaoon, directed by yet another debutant director Sanamjit Singh Talwar has managed to collect Rs. 31.9 million (Rs 3.19 crore) nett till date.
O Teri, directed by yet another director Umesh Bist has had the lowes collection and has managed to Rs. 22.3 million (Rs 2.23 crore) nett till date at the Box Office, though official reports are yet to come in.
Now Ragini MMS 2 in its second week is going strong, as is doing good business at the Box Office. Ragini MMS 2 has managed to collect Rs. 428.70 million (Rs 42.87 crore) nett till date at the Box Office.
However in all of this, Queen has emerged to be the biggest grosser at the Box Office. Queen is the biggest hit of the year 2014 so far as it has grossed around Rs. 500 million (Rs 50.00 crore) nett in three weeks and is expected to still do more business.
April 04, 2014 shall see Main Tera Hero and Jal hit the silver screen. We shall get back to you will the fate of these two films.
