CBFC Makes A Unbelievable Decision On Shah Rukh Khan- Alia Bhatt’s Dear Zindagi

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), popularly known as the censor board, has passed one film without any cuts. The film is none other than Gauri Shinde‘s second directorial venture Dear Zindagi starring Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. It has given Dear Zindagi a U/A certificate and without any cuts.

A source close to the film has said that, “There is not a single cut, verbal or visual. The Board actually said it would be a crime to cut even one shot from the film. They also singled out Shah Rukh Khan as the A-list actor with the least censorial intervention required in his films.”

CBFC has always demanded removal of scenes or censored films on grounds of obscenity, violence and possibilities of hurting religious or community sentiments. Alia Bhatt’s Udta Punjab had become the centre of controversy with the number of cuts demanded by CBFC in that film which was ultimately passed with an `A’ certificate and several cuts.

But given the plot of Dear Zindagi, it was expected to be released without any cuts.

Dear Zindagi‘ which also stars Ira Dubey, Aditya Roy Kapur, Kunal Kapoor, Ali Zafar and Angad Bedi, is slated to release on November 25, 2016.
