Backed by Steven Spielberg‘s DreamWorks and Reliance Entertainment, Tate Taylor‘s The Girl on The Train is an adaptation of Paula Hawkin‘s best seller novel of the same name.

The location of the film has been repositioned and changed to upstate New York instead of London where the novel was set.
The director took this call as creative liberty, in order to enhance the visual appeal of the film.
