PRESS RELEASE

Mumbai, September 16, 2007:  To add an absolute “Dhamaal” quotient in the lives of 250 special kids, Cinemax and Cancer Patients Aid Association [CPAA] hosted a special screening of the mirth-filled comedy “Dhamaal” at the luxurious Cinemax opulence. This incredible event was held to commemorate “Rose Day”, a day conceived and marked by CPAA to bring cheer, happiness and smiles to these brave cancer affected kids.

Just when the children thought the excitement was over, a huge array of their favourite stars walked in to elevate the dhamaal to another level. Celebrities including Ritiesh Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Shamita Shetty, Viveik Oberoi, Ashish Choudhary along with the producer Ashok Thakeria and director Indra Kumar completely rocked the event and prompted unforgettable smiles on the faces of these young children. They merrily chatted and interacted with the enthusiastic kids and were seen distributing roses and gifts to the overjoyed young fans. Cinemax, along with CPAA, gave the kids an opportunity of a lifetime where they enjoyed a day full of fun and surprises.

The film producer Ashok Thakeria, a keen supporter of CPAA, commented, “If our film DHAMAAL could bring smiles on the faces of these special kids and for those moments they could forget the pain, we think we have got the biggest gift we could ask for. We are happy at the success of our film and equally very happy to be a part of this year’s Rose Day celebration for cancer patients and if our support can make a big difference in the lives of cancer patients, we would continue to do so and will always be there for such causes. We wish all the patients good health, speedy recovery and God bless.”

Speaking on this special occasion, Mr. Devang Sampat, Vice President, Marketing & Programming, CINEMAX , said, “Children know dhamaal, like no other and so we decided to join hands with CPAA to host this special screening of the movie which would provide the always welcome fun factor in the lives of these special kids. We have continually strived to offer the children of the CPAA memories they can cherish forever. Interacting with their dream celebrities is a wish-come-true for them. CPAA is doing a wonderful job and we are glad to extend a helping hand in this charitable and remarkable cause. After hosting a grand premiere for the movie, it is a pleasure to take our association with the film further with this cherished initiative.”

Ms. Anita Peter, Director, Cancer Patients Aid Association said, ” A Rose Day is a very special day for all of us at CPAA. Celebrity visits gives immense happiness to our patients so much so that we have had patients attributing this one day as the best day of their lives. We had doctors saying that they haven’t seen patients having such pleasant smiles on their faces throughout the treatment. Smiles light up their eyes and nothing than the children’s overflowing happiness is more satisfying for the workers of CPAA Thus Rose Day, even if momentarily, manages to make the patients and their relatives forget their agonies and battle with cancer.”
