Court Denied Bid For New Trial To Michael Jackson’s Mother!

When Michael Jackson died in June 2009 while preparing for his ‘This Is It’ shows, his mom, Katherine Jackson, had sued concert promoter AEG and claimed that they had exercised unethical control over the pop star’s physician and did not investigate him properly. The court papers said, “Michael died of acute propofol intoxication while under Dr. Murray’s care.” Katherine Jackson had claimed damages on grounds of holding Dr. Murray and AEG responsible for taking the pop star’s health casually and neglecting the treatment that he required at that stage! This had invited a six months trial; Mrs. Jackson had started her fight for the dead son with a resolution that she would go till the Supreme Court of California to claim justice.

The appeals court found out that AEG hired Dr. Conrad Murray because he was the singer’s personal choice, and refused to accept that the doctor was by any means, an ‘independent contractor.’ The court has hence ruled out the possibility of AEG being financially responsible for Jackson’s death. Katherine Jackson had bid for a new trial against the failed $1 billion negligence suit against AEG, but that has been dismissed by the 2nd District Court of Appeal in California.
