LOS ANGELES: Fans of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow will have to wait just a little bit longer to see their favourite pirate on screen again…

The next installment in Disney’s uber successful ‘Pirates of The Caribbean’ series: i.e. ‘Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ will now go on floors only late next year, and will see a summer 2016 release.

The film was initially slated to come in 2015.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer said that issues with the script and budget caused the delay. “We have an outline everyone loves but the script is not done,” Bruckheimer said, adding: “We want a script that everyone’s signed off on and a budget that everyone’s signed off on,” said Bruckheimer.

Adding that since many big ticket Hollywood films have failed this year, “everybody’s more cautious”. He added that coming up with a great script was “always hard”.
