MUMBAI: It’s truly a tale of two sequels and two cities. Dhamaal 2 was premiered in Toronto at IIFA. However, back home in Mumbai the third part of the Dhamaal series has now been postponed to next year. The third part of Dhamaal, which has been titled Total Dhamaal, has been pushed to next year. Moreover, the sequel to Masti will be made this year.
When quizzed by Businessofcinema.com, producer Ashok Thakeria admits that they’re going ahead with Masti 2 first. However, he’s reluctant to reveal details about Total Dhamaal. “Both Masti 2 and Dhamaal 3 are being written. Both scripts are work in progress and we will be going ahead with Masti first.”
When queried as to whether Total Dhamaal would see a change of guard in the female cast, Thakeria says, “It’s too early to tak about the cast but the core cast will remain. We had a wonderful time working with Mallika Sherawat and Kangna Ranaut during Double Dhamaal. Mallika was fine until we reached the green carpet in Toronto. After that she disappeared. I haven’t seen her since then.”
Thakeria admits that the cast of Masti 2 is expected to remain unchanged. The audience will see Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia d’Souza together once again.
