Dhamaal edges towards completion

shok Thackeria and Indra Kumar’s new production Dhamaal, being made under the banner of Maruti International, is more than 60 per cent complete.

Both Thackeria and Kumar are not in Mumbai currently, and were unavailable for comment. Production head Umesh Sharma confirms that Dhamaal is 60 to 65 per cent complete. “We are shooting for a week from 22 January in Baramati (interior Maharashtra). We should be able to wrap up the shooting by March 2007.”

He adds, “Dhamaal is an all male film. There are no heroines. It is all fun and frolic, with a cast comprising five main characters – Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Ashish Chaudhary and Javed Jaffrey. Earlier, Sharman Joshi was to play Javed’s role, but it did not work out. The film will have two songs, but we have yet to finalise the music director.”

The duo of Ashok Thackeria and Indra Kumar has previously made films like Dil, Beta, Raja, Mann, Aashiq, Rishtey, Masti and Pyaare Mohan.
