MUMBAI: Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions’ has launched ‘Gippi’. This is the first time the Production house would be launching a lady director, and also the first time when Dharma will be producing a movie just for the kids.
Director Sonam Nair assisted Ayan Mukherji in ‘Wake Up Sid’. A Major chunk of ‘Gippi’ has already been shot in Shimla and currently the shooting is going on in Mumbai.
Auditions for the lead actor were conducted across India, by the director herself for several aspiring young actors. After a long series of auditions finally 13 year old, Delhi based Riya Vij was selected. She has no prior experience of performing in front of the camera but however, the filmmakers thought her to be a perfect match for the role of ‘Gippi’.
