MUMBAI: Dolby Laboratories will showcase the new sound of entertainment and showcase audio technologies designed to transform the way people can enjoy their favourite music, movies, and television programs at FICCI Frames 2011.
Dolby Laboratories executive vice president Sales and Marketing Ramzi Haidamus will highlight the importance of sound as a fundamental part of life and key to bringing realism, excitement, and emotion to entertainment-and demonstrate how people are now choosing to enjoy entertainment across four key scenarios: in the cinema, at home, on the PC, and on mobile phones. He will also underscore Dolby’s commitment to India and affirm the company’s desire to work closely with Indian companies in India to deliver products that raise the bar for quality, performance, and features.
Dolby will also highlight momentum for Dolby Digital Plus, its next-generation surround sound technology for the broadcast market. The company recently announced collaboration with Tata Sky, which has implemented Dolby Digital Plus as the audio codec for Tata Sky+ HD, the new-generation personal video recorder (PVR). Tata Sky joins Airtel in bringing high-definition surround sound delivered by Dolby Digital Plus to subscribers in India.
Dolby head of Sales and Business Development India Pankaj Kedia said, "India is experiencing rapid development in digital and mobile technologies and Dolby is expanding its efforts to meet the opportunity and deliver outstanding experiences to consumers. We know consumers are passionate about entertainment and Dolby shares that passion. Our approach is built on delivering world-class audio technology and support to Indian companies so they can bring innovative, bestselling content and devices to the market."
