Dot In Motion opens non-feature film section at IFFI

MUMBAI: Indian Panorama at IFFI – 2009 was inaugurated by the Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Raghu Menon on 24 November in Panaji. The chairman and members of feature and non-feature film jury were felicitated on the occasion.

 

The film Dot In for Motion opened the Indian Panorama Non-Feature Film Section. Director Anirban Datta was present on the occasion to introduce his film.

 

Datta hoped that with greater recognition to non-feature film genre, the financing situation for such films would also improve. He added that it is becoming necessary to also recognize new expressions coming in with the digital medium. 


Menon presented participation certificates to Laxmikant Shetgaonkar and Datta. 


In all, 44 films will be screened in Indian panorama. Of these, 26 are Feature and 18 Non-Feature Films during the 10-day film festival.
