Why Ekta Kapoor Lapped Up The Half Girlfriend Deal?

The moment Chetan Bhagat decided to turn his Half Girlfriend into a film, Ekta Kapoor quickly decided to get on with it.

She immediately paid a midnight visit to both Mohit Suri and Chetan Bhagat and sealed the deal. So as it stands, Bhagat will produce the film with Ekta Kapoor which will be directed by Mohit Suri.

Chetan Bhagat’s last book to screen translation won rich dividends at the box office. 2 States was the story of his marriage to his sweetheart which was perfectly performed by Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. It even minted money like crazy.

Ekta Kapoor might have thought she could smell a gold mine here and immediately rose up to the occasion.

In fact, Chetan debut in Hindi films as screenplay writer also made huge bucks in the form of Kick. So when the writing is concerned, Ekta definitely has landed a winner here. Indian book reading audience loves his quirks and witty style of writing.
