Emraan Hashmi Takes A Break From International Film Shooting

Balaji Motion Pictures called Emraan Hashmi back to Mumbai from Danis Tanovic's project so that they could complete some last-minute patch work for 'Ek thi Daayan'

MUMBAI: Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi who is busy shooting for his debut International film with Oscar winning director Danis Tanovic ( ‘No Man’s Land’ 2002) has had to take an unexpected break from the shoot.

Hashmi has been in Patiala from a couple of weeks shooting with Tanovic. But was soon asked to take a break to finish some last minute editing in Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj’s joint venture ‘Ek Thi Daayan’.

Balaji Motion Pictures called the actor back to Mumbai so that they could complete some last-minute patch work for the thriller film. We hear that Producer Guneet Monga and director Danis Tanovic understood the urgency of the ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ crew for wanting Emraan to be in Mumbai immediately, as the film is set for an April 18 release.

“Danis understands how the film business works and though he isn’t entirely pleased about the break, he agreed to let go of Emraan to complete the patch work for ‘Ek Thi Daayan’,” said an insider.

The untitled film’s producer Guneet Monga confirms the news saying, “It’s (film industry) one big family for us. We are only happy to be able to do what’s needed for Emraan and the team of ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ and Balaji.”

‘Ek Thi Daayan’ directed by debutante Kannan Iyer starring Emraan Haashmi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Kalki Koechlin is all set to hit the screens on April 18, 2013.
