MUMBAI: Eros International’s next release Cheeni Kum starring Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu and Paresh Rawal will be premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on 21 May. Eros is also planning to have a special preview of the movie at Empire Leicester Square in London on 22 May.
The movie is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on 25 May.
Cheeni Kum is written and directed by Lowe India national creative director R. Balakrishnan (Balki). It is positioned as a romantic comedy with less sugar, a sarcastic love story of a 64-year-old arrogant, acidic chef of London’s top Indian restaurant and a simple 34-year-old unmarried woman, visiting London.
Eros International is also distributing the music of the film. Music direction is by Ilyaraaja.
Eros International CEO and chairman Kishore Lulla said, “We are very excited about Cheeni Kum. It is the first among our line up of global releases this summer. We are launching the film at Cannes Film Festival, where we are celebrating Eros’ 30th anniversary this year.”
The music of the movie has been released on the Eros label.
