MUMBAI: Multiplex chain operator Fame India has posted a net loss of Rs 36.62 million (Rs 3.66 crore) in Q1 this year, as against a net loss of Rs 95.34 million (Rs 9.53 crore) a year ago.
The company’s revenue, on the other hand, has jumped 139.4 per cent.
According to Fame, the figures for the quarter are not strictly comparable with the corresponding three-months in the previous period, on account of business interruption due to strike called by the producers and distributors forum in the June quarter and on account of the service tax on rentals.
While the company’s total income stood at Rs 389.03 million (Rs 39.9 crore) as compared to Rs 162.51 million (Rs 16.25 crore) in the previous year. Total expenditure of the company increased to Rs 405.02 million (Rs 40.50 crore) in Q1 this year, as against Rs 246.54 million (Rs 24.65 crore) in the corresponding period last year.
Fame’s theatrical exhibition segment saw an operating loss of Rs 4.05 million (Rs 40.5 lakhs) in this quarter as compared to an operating loss of Rs 74.53 million (Rs 7.45 crore) last year.
