MUMBAI: The Film and Television Producers Guild of India is toying with the possibility of hosting an India Pavilion during the American Film Market, scheduled to be held from 31 October to 7 November 2007.
To be held at Santa Monica, LA, this proposed initiative of Guild will be in association with USIBA (US India Business Alliance), a body which was incorporated in response to the growth of US – India trade and investment.
USIBA draws its strength from the Indian American community which has been a strong catalyst for the growth of small and medium sized businesses in the US, the engine of growth in both economies.
The Guild already has a Memorandum of Understanding in place with USIBA since 2005. The plans for the pavilion include panel discussions featuring speakers from Hollywood and India; networking and matchmaking opportunities and reception with American entertainment companies and screenings.
