MUMBAI: She’s just had the biggest hit of her career with ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ in May, and has ‘Chennai Express’ with Shah Rukh Khan coming up in a week. But Deepika Padukone is showing no signs of stopping. The actress has been cast in Farah Khan’s next film ‘Happy New Year’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

It will be a reunion for Farah Khan with both Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, who worked together in ‘Om Shanti Om’. That was Deepika’s first film in Bollywood.

The film has been in the works since Farah Khan finished her debut film ‘Main Hoon Naa’ in 2004, but was always postponed. ‘Happy New Year’ deals with a group of out-of-luck dancers consisting of Deepika Padukone, Vivaan Shah, Abhishek Bachchan and Boman Irani trying to win a dance competition.

As reported yesterday, a George Clooney in ‘Ocean’s Eleven’-like Shah Rukh Khan would lead this rag-tag group. (Read Report Here)

Shooting for Farah Khan’s film begins in September. After that Deepika Padukone will move on to Imtiaz Ali’s next film opposite Ranbir Kapoor once again, in January 2014. No release date is set for ‘Happy New Year’ yet but it might release in the second half of 2014. Do we see a return to Diwali for Shah Rukh Khan? Let’s wait and watch!
