MUMBAI: Sonakshi Sinha’s claim to fame are the ‘Dabangg’ movies. But it seems the third installment in the Bollywood’s famous franchise may leave out the actress.
Sonakshi Sinha has revealed that ‘Dabangg 3’ might be a prequel instead of a sequel. If this is the case, then the film will take place before Salman Khan’s character Chulbul Pandey meets Sonakshi Sinha’s character Rajjo.
The prequel to ‘Dabangg’ will supposedly concentrate on Chulbul Pandey’s character alone and how he became the feared and courageous man that he is in the first movie.
The actress herself, though, is still unsure about her role in the next film. She said, “It all depends on the plot and how they want to take it forward. From what I have heard, they want to make a prequel. If that’s the case, I may not be in the film and that’s absolutely fine.”
However, Sonakshi Sinha does not seem to be affected by this development. “I will always be known as the Dabangg girl, and that is what matters,” she said, confidently. “If it was a continuation of the story, I know for a fact that I would’ve been a part of ‘Dabangg 3’ but since it’s going back to before Chulbul met Rajjo, I am fine with it.”
‘Dabangg 3’ will mostly go on floors in 2015, so there is still time for the scripting team to figure out if Sonakshi Sinha will make an appearance in the prequel. Arbaaz Khan, who directed ‘Dabangg 2’, will direct the third film in the franchise too.
