MUMBAI: Saif Ali Khan, producer of ‘Go Goa Gone’ enjoyed a special screening of the film with his begum Kareena Kapoor Khan. He also recently revealed why he found it so satisfying to work on a film like ‘Go Goa Gone’.
At a special film screening on Thursday night, Saif invited his near-and-dear ones to join him at Lightbox in Mumbai. Director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, along with co-producer Dinesh Vijan were spotted. Saif’s gorgeous wife Kareena Kapoor Khan was also seen at the screening, matching her husband’s colour palate in a steel blue shirt and grey elephant pants, which are all the rage this summer.
Accompanying the lovely Kareena Kapoor Khan was the even lovelier Karisma Kapoor, who looked sexy in a green printed sleeveless top and black skinny jeans.
Saif recently revealed his motivation in making a film like ‘Go Goa Gone’, which he feels is a contribution to cinema. “We try and contribute entertainment and we try and make the best films we can. There is something very satisfying even in putting together the poster, or working on a film like ‘Go Goa Gone’ with these directors. They bought cameramen from Europe and even that sort of little globalization is very exciting rather than meeting the same people and doing the same sort of thing. I have enjoyed thoroughly the process of making a film like ‘Go Goa Gone’.”
As a producer, Saif also added that he feels there must be a balance between box office, and intelligent cinema. “If you historically look at actors and producers, the ones that have stood out are people who have shown their box office muscle in the obvious ways by producing hit films and catering to the audience. Because intelligent cinema in all cultures is kind of niche. But then, using that power what are the films that you have created? So a balance between both schools, not just being dictated to by the box office is what defines an actor or a star. It always has.”
