Shadows of Time to release in India

MUMBAI: The internationally acclaimed movie Shadows of Time (Somoyer Chhaya in Bengali) by Oscar winner German director Florian Gallenberger, which released in 2004 in Europe, will be releasing all over India on 29 September.


 


The film, which is the first German-made film in Bengali, stars Tannishtha Chatterjee, Irrfan Khan and Prashant Narayanan and will be released by Bobby Bedi of Kaleidoscope Films.


 


Shadows of Time’s tale navigates through many years in the life of two carpet factory workers – a boy and a girl – who nurture a deep bond of compassion and love. However fate drifts them apart, until they reunite… only to drift apart again.


 


Shadows of Time will be released on 29 September by Bobby Bedi of Kaleidoscope Films in Indian metros with English subtitles,” says Tannishtha Chatterjee, the leading lady of the film.


 


“You can call it the first most ambitious German production in Bengali to be released in India. This movie, which was made on a small budget was premiered in many festivals and won many internationals awards,” adds Chatterjee.


 


Shadows of Time has been premiered in Europe at the Berlin Film Festival and the North American Premiere in Toronto. The movie also won best European Film Award in Brussels in Mons Film Festival and best director and best cinematography at the Bavaria Film Awards, Germany.
