MUMBAI: The IndieFocus film festival, to be held from 16 to 18 March 2007 at the PVR Cinemas, Mumbai will open with the Asian premiere of Arindam Mitra’s directorial debut, Shunya.
Mitra has earlier produced Black Friday. Shoonya was recently screened at the 36th International Film Festival at Rotterdam. The premiere at IndieFocus will be attended by Mitra, the film’s actors Kay Kay Menon and Seema Biswas, along wit Anurag Kashyap.
The festival was to earlier commence with the screening of Academy Award winner Danis Tanovic’s Hell. Danis had to leave for Sarajevo following a personal crisis and could not stay on for the festival. Shunya takes its place.
Other films to screened at the festival include The Beat That My Heart Skipped, L’Enfant, A Bellyful of Dreams and Padma Nadir Majhi.
