MUMBAI: While the men dominated the scene in Bollywood this week, Bollywood babes too were out and about. Sadly, a few of them failed to impress us and win any laurels, thanks to their lack-lustre style statements.
Staid Eid for Gauri Khan: Eid was celebrated over the weekend, and Shah Rukh Khan threw a grand Eid party for his family and closest friends from the industry. While the guests turned up in their finest, the lady of the manor aka Gauri Khan stumped us with her less-than-appealing style statement in a simple blue bandhani printed salwar suit and a no-frills tied up hairdo. Disappointing to say the least, considering her husband Shah Rukh Khan was dressed to the nines in an elegant black pathani suit, and gelled-back hair.
Cafe Conspiracy by Nargis Fakhri: Nargis Fakhri was out and about with John Abraham, promoting her upcoming film ‘Madras Cafe’. However, her literal interpretation of the film’s title had us swooning (and NOT in a good way!) Nargis pulled off a basic black tee and jeans. While there was nothing wrong with keeping it casual, we wish she’d put in a bit more effort, considering she was with Bollywood’s resident Johnny Bravo aka John Abraham.
Special mention for Tanisha: The very lovely Kajol’s younger sister Tanisha ought to have taken a leaf out of big sis’ style files, for Sanjay Khan’s Eid party. While Kajol kept it elegant in a pista green chiffon sari, Tanisha went OTT in a pink and blue-bordered sari, an embroidered full sleeved blouse and an oversized bouffant. Hasn’t Tanisha heard: less is more?
