It’s Finally Happening! Taylor Swift Ropes In Kendrick Lamar For Music Video

Hollywood pop singer Taylor Swift is over the moon with the recent news and just couldn’t wait to share it with her fans. Now we’ve all seen Taylor’s admiration for hip-hop artist rapper Kendrick Lamar in the past and the young’un has never shied away from having a fan-girl moment. Taylor took to her Twitter account to officially declare Kendrick’s role in her upcoming music video.

Produced by Taylor Swift and directed by Joseph Kahn, Bad Blood will see rapper Kendrick Lamar playing the role of Welvin Da Great. Taylor tweeted Lamar’s first look from the music video, “Meet Welvin Da Great. @kendricklamar #BadBloodMusicVideo” The video also features Ellie Goulding, Hayley Williams, Zendaya, Lily Aldridge, Lena Dunham and Hailee Steinfeld and is set to premier this Sunday at Billboard Music Awards.

Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar are yet to officially do a track together. The duo had recently collaborated for an incredible mash-up where Lamar did some freestyle rap and tried singing Swift’s hit song ‘Shake It Off’. The poster of the video reads ‘Band-aids don’t fix bullet holes’ which goes quite well with the theme Lamar usually raps about. Will this video collaboration between the duo pave way to an official single soon? Well only time will tell!

Kendrick Lamar who has previously expressed his wish to pursue acting some time soon is a critically acclaimed rapper of his generation. And with the recent success of his album To Pimp A Butterfly, Lamar is soaring high in his career. He has won Grammy for his song ‘I’ amongst other prestigious awards. His album Good Kid Maad City is being taught as a course in Georgia Regents University.

Taylor Swift on the other hand is a world famous celebrity with a mind-boggling number of 256 awards won till date! Amongst which are 16 American Music Awards, 7 Grammies, 20 Billboard Music Awards and 21 Teen Choice Awards. Her recent singles ‘Shake It Off’ and ‘Blank Space’ have both set their own records.
