MUMBAI: Yesteryear actor Jeetendra has denied that he will be staging a comeback to movies after nearly three years in his daughter – Ekta Kapoor’s Bhojpuri film Gabbar Singh.
The film is a remake of Sholay and Ekta had asked Jeetendra to play the role of Thakur, which was essayed by the late Sanjeev Kumar in the original. Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor will be producing the film under the Balaji Films banner. The film will be directed Mahesh Pandey and will star Ravi Kissan and Nagma.
“I have not signed Ekta’s Bhojpuri film Gabbar Singh and I don’t know from where this rumour started. I will make a comeback to films but not yet,” Jeetendra tells Businessofcinema.com.
Jeetendra has acted in more than 200 films and was last seen in a cameo in his home-production, Kucch To Hai in 2003, starring his Tushaar Kapoor and Esha Deol.
