But now, Sooraj Pancholi who is accused of abetting the suicide of his girlfriend-actor Jiah Khan, has finally received his passport by the Bombay High Court, despite of opposition by CBI.

Earlier, CBI counsel Hiten Venegaonkar told Justice Mridula Bhatkar that the agency wants time to file its reply to the petition, but was in principle opposed to it. Today, Justice Mrudula Bhatkar ordered CBI to return Sooraj Pancholi’s passport with certain conditions.

Before granting relief by returning passport, Mridula Bhatkar asked Sooraj Pancholi to state explanation on why he needs passports and where is he travelling to.

On Wednesday, CBI had opposed strong objection to return Sooraj’s passport permanently as Jiah Khan’s mother Rabiya has filed a petition seeking the applicant (Sooraj) to be charged under section 302 of IPC for murdering Jiah Khan and she has sought FBI probe in the case.
