Kamlesh Pandey to pen scripts for BR Films

MUMBAI: BR Films is stepping up on the production front. While films like Bhootnath with Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan and Pappu Paas Ho Gaya with Govinda and Lara Dutta are already on the anvil; BR Films has now signed writer Kamlesh Pandey (of Rang De Basanti fame) for a three film deal.

Confirming the same to Businessofcinema.com, Ravi Chopra says, “We will be producing three new films besides Bhootnath and Pappu Paas Ho Gaya. The three new films include, Kohinoor, Betiyaan and Grand Bharat Ka Last Show. Currently we are casting for Kohinoor and we plan to roll the film by November end.”

Pandey will be scripting these three movies for BR Films.

Kohinoor will be directed by Ravi Chopra’s eldest son Kapil, while as Betiyaan and Grand Bharat Ka Last show are still in the scripting stage and the directors are yet to be announced.

Pandey adds, “After the success of Rang De Basanti, I feel there is an increased awareness about content being the king and my three films with Ravi Chopra would surely reiterate that belief.”

In a career spanning almost three decades, Pandey has written for films, television and advertising. Some of the films that he has penned the dialouges for are: Jalwa, Tezaab, Dil, Beta, Saudagar, Chaalbaaz, Thakshak, and Aks amongst others. He also penned the TV serial Karamchand.
