Karan Johar Inks Deal With Reliance Entertainment For Overseas Distribution

A while ago, we had reported that Karan Johar had handed over the India distribution rights for four of his upcoming releases to distributor Anil Thadani. Now, it has been learnt, that for the International markets, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has partnered with Reliance Entertainment.

Now, it has been learnt, that for the International markets, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has partnered with Reliance Entertainment, which is the flagship motion picture arm of India’s Reliance Group.

The four films in question are ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’, ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’, ‘Ungli’ and ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya’, for which Reliance Entertainment will be the distributors in the overseas market.

Said Dharma Productions’ CEO Apoorva Mehta, “We are very excited about having Reliance Entertainment as our Overseas distribution partner for our next four releases. Our strength in content creation matched by their distribution expertise will ensure that the films have the widest possible reach in traditional and non-traditional market”.

Reliance Entertainment COO Mahesh Ramanathan was equally upbeat about the synergy between the two conglomerates, when he said in a statement: “Reliance Entertainment is delighted to partner Dharma Productions- India’s premier film production house. The collaboration should break new ground in the overseas markets and expand the reputation of both the companies internationally.”
