MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Boss’ is set to get even bigger and better, with Krian Media bagging the distribution rights for it, internationally.

Krian Media, whom had earlier distributed superhits like ‘G.I. Joe’ in India, have been chosen to distribute the big budget Viacom18 Motion Pictures film internationally. ‘Boss’ is slated to release in over 400 screens all over the world.

Not just in North America, as is the norm for most Bollywood films which release abroad, ‘Boss’ will release simultaneously in Europe, North America, South East Asia and Australia, making it a massive global release.

Viacom18 Motion Pictures’ Associate Vice President, Mr. Neeraj Goswamy said: “We have had a great experience working with Krian Media Ltd. for ‘G.I. Joe’. Their knowhow of latest technology and their vast distribution spread makes them an ideal partner for us and hence we had absolutely no hesitation in aligning with them for the ‘Boss’ release in international markets.”

Krian Media’s Vice President, Film Acquisition & Distribution Mr. Raj Malik, said, “It is no secret that with the explosion of India internationally, Indian cinema has also been breaking newer barriers and crossing over to many more international markets. Likewise International cinema has also been increasingly making its presence felt at the Indian Box office. In this context, the ‘Boss’ deal is significant to us not just because it is our first acquisition of a mainstream big budget Bollywood movie, but it is also the first movie that we would be distributing globally and not just in the US markets.”

‘Boss’ starring Akshay Kumar, Aditi Rao Hydari, directed by Anthony D’Souza and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Cape Of Good Films and Ashwin Varde Productions is slated for a 16 October, 2013 release.
