MUMBAI: Animation is the flavour of the season. Producer Kumar Mangat, who is making a 3D animation cum live action film called Toonpur Ka Superhero with Ajay Devgan, is planning to release the same in Diwali next year.
Work on the Rs 400 million (Rs 40 crores) movie, commenced six months back.
2nz Animation CEO Kireet Khurana is directing the film. “Another 15 months of work will go into the film and it should be ready for a Diwali release next year. A team of 50 people are working on Toonpur Ka Superhero,” informs Mangat.
While Devgan is scheduled to start shooting for the film next month, the female lead to be paired opposite him has still not been finalised. Sources reveal that a top actress is being considered for the part. Apart from the lead pair, two children will also be a part of this film.
“This 3D animation film combined with live action will have Devgan and the female lead enter into the world of animated characters,” informs Mangat.
