Leonardo DiCaprio To Play A Man With 24 Different Personalities In The Crowded Room

Hollywood’s ace actor Leonardo DiCaprio is known for taking up challenging roles, which most actors wouldn’t dare to do. And Leo is ready to take his brilliance to a whole another level by playing a man with multiple personality disorder in his next film. Leonardo will apparently be seen playing the role of a man with 24 different personalities in his next flick named The Crowded Room.

The Crowded Room is based on the true story of Billy Milligan who was convicted for rape and murder but succeeded in convincing the court that he had multiple personality disorder. Billy Milligan was the first person to use mental illness as a defense against the court of law. Billy was charged with robbery and the rape of three women on the Ohio State University campus in 1977 after which his lawyers argued that two of his personalities had committed the crime without Billy or his other personalities knowing about it.

Apparently The Crowded Room is one of Hollywood’s oldest films penned to be filmed 15 years ago in the 1990s where James Cameron was supposed to write and direct the films. Later directors Joel Schumacher and David Fincher were also sought to direct the movie. Before finalizing Leonardo DiCaprio, a number of actors had been eyed for the role of Billy Milligan. Matthew McConaughey, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and John Cusack being some of them.

Other than The Crowded Room, the Titanic actor Leonardo DiCaprio will also be seen in The Revenant, which is slated to release next year on January 8.
