Magic Monday for media scrips on BSE

MUMBAI: The BSE Sensex closed today (Monday, 7 November) at a record 13,186.89 points, which was up 56.10 points from its previous day’s close. What’s more, media scrips like Balaji Telefilms, TV18, Adlabs, UTV and Saregama amongst others were also riding on the upbeat market sentiment.


 


The scrip of Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms rode the Sensex wave gaining 10.38 per cent from its previous close. The stock, which had closed on Friday at Rs 158.55, closed on Monday at Rs 175. Balaji Telefilms’ scrip touched a high of Rs 190.25 today.


 


TV18 gained Rs 83.05 (10.18 per cent) to close at Rs 898.55 on Monday from its previous close of Rs 815.50. At 3:40 pm, it was trading for Rs 909. The scrip touched a high of Rs 915.90 and a low of Rs 811.15 during the day’s trade.


 


UTV Software Communications, whose previous close at the bourses was Rs 202.95, today opened at Rs 204.84. At the day’s end, the stock closed at Rs 221.75, which was up by Rs 18.80 (9.26 per cent). While the stock was trading at Rs 232 at 11:36 am, it dropped to Rs 222 at 3:40 pm. UTV touched a high of Rs 234 today.


 


K Sera Sera saw a marginal increase of 1.43 per cent. The stock opened at Rs 32.00 and closed at Rs 31.95, up Rs 0.45 from its previous close of Rs 31.50.


 


Saregama India Ltd also firmed up today and closed at Rs 216.95, up 9.99 per cent from its previous close of Rs 197.25. It was trading at Rs 217 at 3:02 pm.


 


On the other hand, Adlabs Films, which closed on Friday at Rs 358.80, opened today at Rs 361.00 and closed Rs 365.55 (up by Rs 6.75 or 1.88 per cent from its previous close). The scrip reached a high of Rs 372.50 today.


 


Baba Arts was up 13.03 per cent. The scrip opened at Rs 24.65 and closed at Rs 26.90 today.


 


Zee Telefilms, on the other hand, gained 3.62 per cent to close at Rs 337.65 from its previous close of Rs 325.85.
