Mary Kom is an account of a lady boxer rise to boxing supremacy despite hailing from a neglected region of India and belonging to a farmer’s family. It is the story of triumph and victory of determination. But reviews for the film and Priyanka Chopra have been mixed which means the makers have failed to bring across the plot honestly. Yet the film will manage to earn decent sum for the following reasons
1. Mary Kom has been earnestly promoted by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and SLB Films. The marketing strategies have been on your face which will work in its favour.
2. Given Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’s success, the rage for biopics is increasing and the film will manage to cash in on that.
3. The film has been made tax-free in four states, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Assam which will help the film’s cause amply.
4. Priyanka Chopra has a pretty decent fan following among women and with her taking up such a strong role will only increase footfalls at the theatres.
