NDTV Lumière commences its World Cinema Movement

Mumbai: NDTV Lumière unveiled its first offering The Orphanage on May 29.  This critically acclaimed Spanish film, produced by Guillermo Del Toro has won over 28 international Awards. 

The beautifully crafted, frightening ghost story in which restless spirits provoke fear and solace in equal measures for the grieving members of the waking world, stars Spanish actress Belèn Rueda and Geraldine Chaplin (grand-daughter of Charlie Chaplin). The film is directed by the award winning young filmmaker Juan Antonio Bayona.

Announcing the first release NDTV Imagine CEO Sameer Nair says, "We believe that there is a large audience for cinema of this kind across the country. Our endeavor is to bring the best from across the world to a 24 hour television channel."  

NDTV Lumière director Sunil Doshi says, "The foundation of NDTV Lumière is to bring diverse world cinema along with the works emerging film-makers to India on a grand scale. We will offer audiences a variety of films across genres from horror to comedy and from drama to animation."
