MUMBAI: There is no scoop or scandal to this. Payal Rohatgi is very much with ‘Bigg Boss 7’ contestant Sangram Singh and Neelam is with her husband Samir Soni.
The thing they have in common is their date of birth and that’s November 9! Yes, both the ladies share the same date of birth.
Neelam Kothari, an actor and now a jewellery designer, was born in Hong Kong to a family that had a traditional jewellery making business.
Way back in the nineties Neelam was spotted by director Ramesh Behl while she was holidaying in Mumbai and he offered her the film ‘Jawaani’ along with Karan Shah. This in the year 1984, Neelam made her acting debut and then went on to do a lot films. Some of her notable films were – ‘Ilzaam’ (1986), ‘Khudgarz’ (1987), ‘Hatya’ (1988), ‘Ghar Ka Chiraag’ (1989), ‘Agneepath’ (1990), ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ (1999). Neelam’s last release was the film ‘Kasam’ in year 2001 post which she stopped acting and got involved in her family business.
She then launched her jewellery store in Mumbai on August 25, 2011 under the name Neelam Kothari Fine Jewels.
She was once married to Rishi Sethia, son of a rich businessman from the UK, but then they had a divorce. Neelam is now married to Samir Soni and they have recently adopted a baby girl on September 2, 2013 and named her Ahana.
Payal Rohatgi on the other hand started her career as a model and in the year 2002 made her Bollywood debut with the Harry Baweja’s ‘Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai?’, a Hindi remake of the Hollywood teen flick ‘American Pie’.
Post this Payal has done a couple of films like ’36 China Town’, ‘Ugly Aur Pagli’, ‘Valentine’s Night’ that also starred her off screen boyfriend Sangram Singh, an Indian wrestler, who is currently participating in ‘Bigg Boss 7’.
Since 2011 Payal has been in a committed relationship with the wrestler, whom she met on the sets of reality show ‘Survivor India’.
