Aamir Khan’s Dangal will not release in Pakistan and the demand by the Pakistan Censor Board might leave you angry.
Aamir Khan’s film ‘Dangal’, inspired by the life of real-life wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, witnessed a powerful run at the Indian Box Office. The film, which released last year in December, dominated the Box Office for almost more than 8 weeks. Well, the film could have added more to its numbers after its release in Pakistani. However, that’s now happening now as Aamir Khan has strictly said no to release the film there.
As we all know, Pakistani recently lifted the ban on the screening of Bollywood movies. So the local distributors requested for the screening of Aamir Khan’s blockbuster hit Dangal and the actor agreed to it. However, according to reports, the Pakistan censor board apparently asked the makers of Dangal to cut two important scenes in the film. The apparently had a problem with two particular scenes in the film.
Reportedly, both the scenes are from the climax. While one shows the Indian Flag, the other has Indian National Anthem playing in the background. Reportedly, Pakistani censor board wanted both the scenes edited out. Aamir Khan was shocked with the condition and he strictly said no to release the film.
Well, Aamir Khan is surely not bothered about the film’s collection. Dangal recently signed a contract with Netflix to the tune of Rs 20 crore for screening the film and collected over Rs 300 crore at the Indian Box Office.
On a related not, Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees was not released in Pakistan despite ban lifted. Apparently, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) of Pakistan thought that the film “apparently is defaming Muslims and showing them as goons and notorious underworld figures.”
Even Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 had to go through several cuts that included some scenes of Kashmir. The makers of the film agreed to the cuts and the film was then released in Pakistan.
