Papanasam: Here’s Why Kamal Haasan Could Not Attend His Film’s Screening

Uttama-Villian-Kamal-Haasan-05After a long gap, Kamal Haasan will finally share screen space with Gauthami in his upcoming film Papanasam. Papanasam is a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam. It talks about a father-daughter relationship where Kamal Haasan will be seen opposite actress Gautami.

The film is Kamal Haasan’s much awaited film and the hype in the Malayalam market is unprecedented.

Kamal and Gauthami play husband and wife in Papanasam and their on screen chemistry takes you back in time.

The distributors of the film for North India were keen to have a special screening of the film in Mumbai. They planned to hold it a day before its release, on the 2nd.

Unfortunately they did not realise that it is Gautami’s birthday on that day. So Kamal Haasan will not be able to make it.

Although he wanted to attend the special screening, he will be unable to make it as he will be spending time with Gautami on her birthday.

Papanasam is an upcoming Tamil thriller film written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Kamal Haasan and Gautami Tadimalla. The film is a remake of Jeethu’s 2013 Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam which starred Mohanlal and Meena in the roles now portrayed by Hasan and Tadimalla respectively. The film also features Asha Sarath, Anant Mahadevan, Kalabhavan Mani and Niveda Thomas. Filming commenced in August 2014. Papanasam is releasing on July 03.
